I'm surprised I haven't heard anything on the news, though then again, I don't watch the news very often. First Haiti...and I wasn't even aware there were any fault lines in that area.

There are a series of fault lines that surround the Pacific Ocean, also know as the "Ring of Fire" as evident in the numbers of volcanoes around the region. Just yesterday a magnitude of 6.8 struck southern Taiwan, and some scientist do argue for some caution on the US West Coast (from Washington to California) as well as preparation and response for if it occurs.

Yeah, I know about the "Ring of Fire". I think that is a caldera. I wasn't aware that it also effected South America. I am quite aware that there is concern that California might experience another "big one" soon, which worries me, since my aunt, uncle, and their daughter live in Los Angeles. As far as I'm concerned, the San Andreas fault line is like a ticking time bomb, and though Los Angeles has grown on me in a nostalgic way, it is still only a nice place to visit, but not a place I'd like to live. For all I know, I, and my Zoids, might end up on the ocean floor if half of California sinks into the ocean. About the only good news is that with the right weather, I won't end up buried in soot if and/or when Yellowstone erupts (if you can count that as good news). Unless we find a way to keep it from building up and going off like the ticking time bomb that it is.
