The next release in the HMM line is Great Sabre. From the pics available from Koto at the moment, the Great Sabre parts looks quite radical (in a good way). The high mobility wings and missiles looks great. Waiting to see more close-up pics of these.

I'm no HMM fan but it's good to see another kit from the line to keep the zoiding community alive!

That was bounded to happend.
I don't know why, I'm finding the result on this one less good than on the SS. Funny wings...

It could even be related to the lack of anything new from Tomy. After all Kotobukiya are effectively splintering the market for Zoids - the fans have to choose one or the other...

I kinda figured this was going to happen... anyone care to wager that one of the next "new" releases we see from Koto is a Dark Horn?  :)  If so, it would be wicked to see how they do their first Dark Zoid.

Not surprised of this release either.  The way I see it, the HMM line is better for the "cats" and "wolves" or the small dinos.

I actually think it looks pretty good and the details look fantastic. I need to get an HMM kit at one point in time, so I'll probably go for this or the HMM Blade Liger Van special.

While im not a huge fan of the build of HMM Zoids, i really like this model. Me being a huge fan of Black and Red color schemes, I really like this. I never got the other saber, only the original red, so im thinking i'll get this one! Can't wait to see some box art.

They've come up with Great Sabre a lot quicker than I expected. Well, my Empire HMMs could do with another cat, but I've still got to cough up for the coming Red Horn and Naomi's Gunsniper. And put a bit aside for that Dark Horn. And plan ahead for that new Kong variation..

I hope Kotobukiya's next 'cheaper' Zoid is the Helcat. A couple would go nicely with my red Sabre.

for me this version is better than the previous 2. will buy. but this kinda reminds me like Hasbro is milking transformers molds up to maximum - where some figures (looking at you voyager movie Prime!!!) got like 5 different decos.

Wow! Definitely a must-get zoid.

Is it just me or HMM Saber Tigers and seems to be popular? I can't always find one that is available or doesn't have the price set pretty high, at least the online stores I checked.

You can notice that most of the HMM kits are Zoids with a lot of different versions : Shield Liger, Command Wolf, Sabre Tiger, IK, Redhorn... and even if there is not many versions, they create some (Molga Carrier...).

Lets us all be honest: we saw this coming ever since the release of Saber Tiger SS.

Notice the medium beam cannon (the one that connects the rest of the weapons array on the right-hand shoulder mount): look familiar? It should-it's the same cannon in that appeared as concept art in Saber Tiger's instruction booklet.

I guess you got to either love or not love those wings, but I personally think the way the wings fold up/engage looks awesome.

The way the missiles retract/activate looks nifty.

Gets released in May? That's sort of interesting, because that is both when I'm off from college AND the same month of by birthday.

*Maethius: Lets just say I wouldn't be surprised if Dark Horn was next up. They might very well be working on that now as we type.

*dragonslx1: I haven't gotten any yet either. Yet. It's not because I don't like them, but an issue of time and money, and an awareness that I'll need to pay attention to special details. I'll probably start off the same way I did with normal Zoids: start off small, and work my way up to the bigger builds.

*Lionel: True, but I think they are also choosing Zoids that are well known/appeared at least once in the anime, and hence are likely to have at least some sort of following. It just so happens that many of these Zoids have a bunch of variants, but then again, that might have been the reason that many of them appeared in the anime in the first place. I can't think of one HMM in which at least the base Zoid appeared in the anime.

I agree, the most loved Zoids in the anime have the most variants, and then, it is an opportunity to do more HMM versions.
Now, maybe Kotobukiya should remember that Gojulas too has a lot of variants...

The Iron Kong should get an HMM Gore, most people love that color scheme.

The Japanese side of Tomy always seemed to turn a blind eye to the existence of the European versions. I doubt Kotobukiya are any more 'outwardly inclined' than Tomy were.

(It especially bugged me when playing Helic vs. Zenebas on the Playstation - there was one piece of equipment you could use to capture enemy zoids, which would give them a colour scheme from the opposing faction. It would have been so easy for them to use the colours of Krark, Zillon, Zore, Znake, Scavenger, Zabre etc - but they never did. Gustav ended up with a red shell and silver head for example.)
