ZOIDS Grand Prix World Custom Championship 2008
The contest is a collaborative contest between multiple forums - at the moment, it includes:
1. Yahoo Group ZoidFans
2. Phenotype’s Forum
3. Zoidspoison
4. Zoids Philippines
5. Zoids Manifest
6. We Are Zoiders (WAZ) Forum
Any other Zoids customizing groups and forums that would be interested, feel free to drop us an e-mail. You don't have to have a forum, just be running a custom contest that'd have at least three winning entries.
How does this work?
Between now till 31 January 2008, all participating groups run a custom contest of their choosing. They keep all their group's rules, and entries can follow a theme, have no theme - it doesn't matter, whatever they'd like to do.
When all's said and done, the top three winners from each group move on to the Grand Prix, competing for shiny prizes and a chance to both prove their skill and earn glory for their favorite customizing group.
Rules & Regulations
1. Entries to the Grand Prix must be winning custom entries from affiliated Zoids websites, groups and forums for the preceding year.
That is: For Grand Prix 2008 (for the first contest), entries will be from 2007 custom contests only.
2. Participants are to adhere to their group's rules and regulations when participating in said group's contest.
If you're entering Bob's Zoid Forum's contest and the rules say it needs to be a cat Zoid with boosters, then your entry should be a cat Zoid with boosters.
3. The top three entries from each group's contest will move on to the Grand Prix. They can be decided by member vote, judges, or whatever other system each group prefers.
4. If a member wins multiple contests in different groups/forums, he/she must choose ONE entry for the Championship. The resulting space(s) needing filling will go to the runner up behind where he/she placed.
For example, Fred won first place in group A and third place on forum B. If Fred decides he likes his entry for group A better, then the second place winner from group A could take his place, and so on.
Date of Grand Prix Championship
All winning entries must be submitted to the working committee by end-March 2008. Judging will commence and we shall get to see our 1st Grand Champion in April 2008.
Submission of Entries by Forum
Photo
1. Maximum of 3 pictures per entry
2. Minimum 640x480 and maximum 800x600 resolution.
3. Composite pictures, edits, and "Box Art" are allowed, but at least one of the pictures must NOT retouched other than compensating for camera/lighting.
4. No outside link to more pictures as Judging will be solely based on the 3 photos.
Story/Presentation
This can either comes in the form of a story about the zoids custom or construction notes to allow judges to better understand your zoid. Maximum of 400 words.
Judging Panel
Participating groups will choose 2 judges (they must be non-participants - that is, not having made any of the entered Zoids) to form an international panel for the judging. Since there are many factors that make custom Zoids great, they should be members capable of acting impartially and considering multiple factors.
Entries will be judged on the following criteria:
1. Overall Design Idea
2. Quality of construction & Build
3. Color scheme/Paint detailing
4. Creative use of zoid parts
5. Pose/articulation/movement.
A maximum of 20 points will be awarded to each criterion, making a total of 100 maximum points. Judges will also submit a short paragraph on why he/she picks the entry as the 3 winning entries amongst the rest. All 3 entries must be ranked accordingly.
All points and write-ups will be made open for all to read after the judging.

Wow, cool... That would be the grand champion for the winner.. Impressive entries from all the participants and I also see the winners from ZP entries in there...
I strongly feels that ZP is standing a big chance in the contest.. Cool.. Can't wait for the results to be announced...

heh,., manifest was an IRL competition. i did put up a post at phenos, at some point, showing it all.
We wont be running a competition hti year at manifest, while i work out the various bullpucky involved in trying to get it cross genre.

Still waiting for some judges to revert on their scores.
So far, I have received the results from:

Sorry Grimm, I did not receive your votes although Quattro has sent his. Quattro has told me why. Sorry to hear about that.
