THE GRADE-UP ZOIDS

TOMY introduced a sub-line of Zoids, called Grade Ups in 1989. These zoids have spinning connectors that are powered by the Zoid's motor. Optional weapons can be mounted on these connectors that have action features. With the exception of Gilvader, all Grade-up Zoids have 1 connector port each. Gilvader has 3 such ports.

SALAMANDER F2

Beauty is in the Eye of the Beholden.

In Ben's eyes, beauty struck him not once but twice. He bought another Salamander F2 recently to his family of vintage zoids. Sally F2 No1 was lonely and it needed another sparring partner/ soul-mate, so came No2 from Japan Auction. One need not ask him about the cost, because he will never tell. However, the S$400 from his IPPT Gold should come handy to pay for this extra piece.

To date, Salamander F2 belongs to the most expensive group of vintage zoids. The others are Ltd Gojulas MKII (RBOZ-003R), Ltd Iron Kong MKII (EPZ-002R), King Gojulas and Gilvader.

Unlike the newer releases of Salamander (which comes in either complete blue or red), F2's battle body is both dark blue and grey. The blue canopy and its gold-chromed wings complete the entire colour theme of the zoid. And these are not all. F2 also can fires missiles from its 2 launchers. 6 missiles are available with this set.
